Windy and Wet November

From Our House to Yours...

November is proving to be a month of mixed messages.  Bright, sunny days and then windy, rainy and chilly.  Being a shoulder month, it can be just a tad uncertain...but you gotta love the change.

Is it time to pull out those...wooleys?  Boots?  Tights?  Socks?   Jackets?  Hmmm -- not too sure yet!

Kick back and enjoy a pot of 'spiced turmeric herbal tea' and watch the wind blow outside ... that's comforting to the soul and of course, nutrients to the body in the process.

Now would be a good time to start on your Christmas List.  Albeit, this year is quite different form any other in recent history with social distancing and masking every where you go  Still, portable essential oils can travel with you in those neat roll-on and sprays.  So convenient and ensures protection from other encounters you may not have anticipated.

I must confess sitting here in my home office with a cup of spiced turmeric herbal tea -- I have visions of a crackling fire, a warm blanket and a diffuser full of enchanting essential oils...what else do I need today!

Here's a few links for you to enjoy ...  Orange Rosehip Black Tea   Vanilla Lemongrass Tea   Spiced Turmeric Herbal Tea

I'd love to hear from you...

Can you hear it...change is in the air!

Can you hear it....change is in the air.  It's September...The days are getting shorter again, Sunset has moved back a half an hour.  Pretty soon you'll be turning off the air conditioners, doing your fall cleaning to remove all the dust of the summer and for some harvesting crops.  Schools reopen to welcome back students...all will change their classes, their teachers, their curriculum and their perspectives.

Along with new regimes like wearing face masks, continuous hand-washing, social distancing...there'll be opportunities to pass on your experiences through a very difficult and tumultuous time in our history.  You may never forget what you had to endure during thee times...but what you gained is immeasurable.  Immediate family time was renewed - we really got to know each other through the good, the bad and the ugly of each person.  Social distancing was difficult for some, but a savior for others.  All had to paddle in our own streams.  We became inventive, appreciative and thankful for what we have.  Sadly reminiscent for what we didn't have....freedom of movement!

While I didn't have the freedom of movement, I had the freedom of choice with Essential Oils.  Young Living has exquisite oils for every occasion, for every man, woman, child and animal...today I brewed my favorite English Breakfast Tea and laced it with Lemongrass and Peppermint Essential Oils...oh the Joy!  Speaking of Joy....dabbed a few drops of Joy essential Oil behind my ears and on the base of my neck and on my inner wrists over the pulse points.  Hmm...the electromagnetic field of the Joy Essential Oil blend supercharged my own electromagnetic field and bumped it up several levels to peak performance. I diffused the house with Purification Essential Oil to clear out odors, any allergens and mold spores circulating.  Spritzed the bed linen with Seedlings Linen Spray....lovely!  Washed up the few dishes with Thieves Dish-washing Liquid, put on the laundry and added Thieves Laundry Soap

What's next!  Fresh air and sunshine....one last swim of the summer...

Back to school for some, back to the DIY mode for me...using Young Living Essential Oils to make my own blends...bring it on!

BBQ'd

Putting flavor in the BBQ menu is essential for the cook-off.  Couldn't resist trying out Young Living's  'Vitality' Spice oils for marinades, seasonings and dressings.

First up for Grilled Chicken is Ginger Oil marinade: a mixture with olive oil, Celtic salt, black pepper & ginger oils.  Asparagus coated with olive oil, Celtic salt, black pepper oil and red pepper flakes and grilled to perfection.  Corn on Cob slathered with lemon oil and char-grilled.  Cole Slaw tossed with Chabani plain yogurt, carrot Seed oil, celery Seed oil, apple cider vinegar, pepper corns as garnish...yum!

Add White, Rose or Red Sangria -- chilled of course!

Young Living has fine tuned their outdoor cooking presence with four distinct categories—Herb, Spice, Citrus, and Supplement—we invite you to explore Vitality dietary essential oils...Essential Oils for Cooking.

Life After Lock-down...

What's life like after lock-down?

Questions not yet answered!  I'm still on lay-off!  My job down-sized...I'm out! Where do I go? What do I do?

We will all need help in the coming days, weeks and months to figure out our new pathway!  https://www.essentialoilsbyshe...

One thing is for sure....life happens differently now!  Masks, social-distancing, work-distancing, travel-distancing...and more...who knew!

Although Young Living products can't fix all the issues - we can add safety and comfort with simple things like...a clean, pure environment for your home; a boost for you and your family's immune system; needed nutrition for your bodies and your animals; cooking with nature's essences...essential oils.

At our home...we value and use all of Young Living's products for our safety and comfort and simple living...for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  https://www.essentialoilsbyshe...

First thing in the morning, after our standard 16 oz of warm water with Lemon Essential Oil, I set our Diffuser to pump out 'Purification oil' to clear the air and destroy any noxious odor or bacteria.   While the air is being cleansed, our bathroom doubles into a safe zone with Thieves Toothpaste and mouthwash followed by a shower with Lavender shower gel, shampoo and conditioner.  I like Coconut Oil laced with my favorite Valor Essential Oil to help me seize the day.  Just a few drops more on the inner wrists and back of neck and I can take on the world.

Orange Vitality Oil in my morning English Breakfast tea; a shake with Pure Complete Protein Powder (I like Chocolate), plain yogurt & tangerine oil, peanut butter, honey...fruit and oatmeal (optional). Breakfast clean-up is equally as comforting with Thieves dish soap.  https://www.essentialoilsbyshe...

I switch oils in my Diffuser to Peace & Calming Essential Oil while I work and dab a touch of Joy Essential Oil on my wrists and neck when I leave home to do banking, shopping, etc.  Hubby loves to do the laundry now with Thieves Laundry Soap...plus he'll offer to mop the floor with Thieves Household Cleaner...he never volunteered before!  Sometimes Hubby will ask for Deep Relief or Panaway to clear the pain in the limbs after his run, and they are my turn-to for relief after my walk, work-out and/or stationary cycle. https://www.essentialoilsbyshe...

Lunch is usually a salad or pasta sprinkled with choice of Vitality Oils.  While the music wafts in the background, and oils refresh the air...hubby looks for a picker-upper!  Got it!  Ninxgia Red - Essential oil-Infused Wolfberry Supplement has all the anti-oxidants to replenish the body after a walk, work-out or run to combat free radicals.  I prefer Afternoon Tea with choice of Peppermint, Spearmint, Cinnamon, Ginger or Chamomile Oil...delicious!  https://www.essentialoilsbyshe...

Dinner is usually something cooked laced with basil, cumin, tarragon, ginger, cinnamon vitality oils, just a few of an extensive line, but these are our preferences...

Ah!...bedtime!  Lavender Oil on the pillow and a whiff from the bottle and down we go for the night!  https://www.essentialoilsbyshe...

To you health!

The Times...They Are A-Changing.....

Bermudiana

Hi All,

These are trying times that we are all going through.  there appears a serious need to change the way we do business...at home...at work...at play. I never thought I would see in my life time (and I am considered a Senior Citizen) such an impact on movement, globally.  As the eternal optimistic, I see changing times ahead that can be a benefit to all of us.  Just takes a bit of perseverence and innovation.

First, perseverence:

You won't get too far withot this characteristic...defined simply as 'grit' or 'value'...a personality trait, if you will.  I thought I had grit until I was on a plane in a thunderstorm.  I heard squeeling and thought it was the little girl next to me...'hello'...it was my little girl within.  Naturally, like us all, I resolved to do all the right things if that plane was just land safely.  It did!  but, I did not keep my promise!  The next time I was in a tough place, I remembered the plane ride and that gave me the resolve to develop some grit. I always had it, but cultural programming told me...'girls, don't exhiit grit...that's for boys!'  I developed grit!

Then, Innovation:

Reach into your mind...everything you've every heard, seen or experienced is in the storehouse of your mind.  It never loses anything.  At the moment you least expect it, a thought pops forward, sometimes good ones, sometimes bad ones...you determine which you will follow.  I take this time to scratch the bad because they become powerless when you delete them.  The term 'mind over matter' is exactly right, since your mind is etheral (unseen) and your brain is visible, although housed inside your head (seen).  I use mine effectively to seek innovation.  This action leads me to make goals that I wish to accomplish.  This in turn gives me purpose...to get up in the morning and push on regardless!

Take action:

I write it all down.  Edit what I wrote down to simplify the action.  Look for ready materials (if required); look for roadblocks (there always is a few); then make a plan, execution date and end result expected.  On execution date, if my body won't work with my mind, I give my body a work out...bodies like to work out no matter how simply.  It's just the way it's designed.  Some movement - give the body what it needs and then I give the mind what it needs!  Sounds too simple...but it does work!  Try it!

We all have the capacity to think.  I just learned how to use my thinking in my favor.  So can you!  We have lots of time now to examine ourselves more deeply than each of us cares to admit.  This will be a good time to chuck the bad; enhance the good and get ready for the next move.  We're all going to need innovation to pull us out of this season.  We're all going to need 'grit' to keep us focused.  Even our little ones have contributions to make: remember they are little versions of you raised under your cultural program.  Their minds are expanding quickly...make sure you feed those hungry minds with perserverence and innovation!

The Times...they are a-changing....

We need to change the way we do business...at home....at work..and at play!  I encourage you to take the 'leap' - what could you possibly gain?  Eveything you 'set' your mind to.  There are no failures...only opportunities reserved for another day!

Best Ever,

Sheena
